Drift boat fishing for salmon usually starts before sunrise and lasts about 8 hours or until the daily limit has been reached. Be ready to be fishing the whole time. When fishing for chinook and coho salmon on NW Oregon rivers, we use several different methods to catch these fish. Casting a bobber with eggs, back-bouncing, and jig fishing are all fun interactive tactics we use on these rivers. During salmon season it is not uncommon to fish two rivers in the same day.
